How It All Started
On a crisp fall afternoon in 2018, Brewery Tours welcomed its first gathering of craft beer aficionados and novices, a like, to experience craft beer in a new and exciting way. The group wound its way along the streets of downtown York City, led by a knowledgeable and experienced Beer Guide who regaled them with stories of York’s historic past as they made their way to the first of three independent craft breweries where the group enjoyed guided tastings of a variety of craft beer styles and a behind-the-scenes tour of the brewhouse.
Since launching its Original Walking Tour in 2018, Brewery Tours has steadily expanded its craft beer experiences to include a fleet of Brew Buses that traverse the amazing York County craft beer scene, which is home to 32 craft breweries, its quarterly Ales on the Rails collaboration with the historic Northern Central Railway, and a robust group and charter line.
Since launching, Brewery Tours’ exclusive, educational and entertaining craft beer experiences have become nationally recognized, drawing guests from around the country who have rewarded Brewery Tours with a 5-Star Rating and named it one of the Best of the Best Local Tourist Attractions for three years running.
Glenn explained, “our craft beer experiences and unwavering advocacy for this amazing craft beer region has caused significant economic impact with our guests contributing tourism dollars to our area hotels, restaurants, stores, attractions, and, of course, breweries!”
In celebration of its five year anniversary, Brewery Tours announced the addition of a walking tour of Lancaster City to its craft beer experience offerings on which guests will visit three of Lancaster City’s craft breweries while enjoying guided craft beer tastings of twelve different craft beers with behind-the-scenes access, local and historical anecdotes, and more… all led, of course, by their knowledgeable and experienced Beer Guides!
